Local networks freezing UPDATED 08/22/25

After the reboot and added server yesterday some of the local networks will still be freezing but they are working on those and they are aware of it and should be resolved soon all of this is preparation for football and smooth operation. If you have the alternative backup program hive there shouldn't be any problems

Importance of having 2 Services (Combo Plan) Only $45/monthly)

Important Note: Sometimes maintenance might be underway, which can cause certain channels, sections, or even the entire app to go temporarily offline. This is just part of how things work in this business. We are only talking a price increase of $15 more a month .50 cents a day for piece of mind. (If you’re not patient, it’s a good idea to have at least two services or apps, so during these interruptions, you can switch over and avoid missing anything.) If only one or two channels are down, it’s probably an issue on the streaming provider’s side. However, if most of your channels are affected and others aren’t facing the same problem, the issue is likely on your end.

Blackrose Login Error

If you see a message saying "login failed, check username and password," don't change anything. The servers are being rebooted after updates for football, so give it a few minutes, and you should be able to log back in. If your channels are freezing or not loading because you're already connected, exit Black Rose, return to the main screen, and wait for it to reboot. Give it a little time—I'm currently checking to find out how long it will take.

Some Channels Freezing or slow loading

Some channels may load slowly, freeze, and then pick up where they left off. Connection issues have been reported and are being addressed. With about 11,000 channels available, patience is appreciated. If you have the backup app Hive, many channels are included there, and it’s a reliable option for handling issues beyond our control. There’s no timeline for when everything will be fixed, but the team is aware and working as quickly as possible.

For most people who were paying $180-$240 a month and are now paying $30, an extra $15 per month is manageable and offers peace of mind.

If there's an issue after hours, we’d really appreciate it if you could visit the website, click on the chat, and let the AI explain and resolve the problem. You can also check out the self-help or video section. Messaging at 5:30 in the morning because your TV isn’t working is not considered an emergency.

This is yet another reason I emphasize daily the importance of having two apps. For just 50 cents more a day, you gain peace of mind, and if one fails, you always have a backup.

08/05/25.. 3:43pm All channels are back to normal. There may still be updating and work done in evenings.

As of 7/31/25 there will be heavy server maintenance in the evenings over the next week or two in preparation for NFL season which will affect some servers and channels at times. This will not affect all channels. There may be rebooting at tines. Unfortunately this is neccessary so there won't be issues during football which we all don't want or need.

This is not affecting the Hive program. If interested in having both programs for only $15 more a month and not have an issue or interuption, please reach out to us during business hours and we will explain and help you get set up

Amazon Software Update

At some point, though the timing is unclear, Amazon will release new operating software called Vega, which is currently Android-based. This will only affect new Firesticks, meaning streaming apps will not be compatible with them. At the moment, it's uncertain if older Firesticks will receive updates, but we do know that Fire TVs will not be updated.

If older Firesticks do get updated, potential alternatives include a promising new Google streaming device we are testing, other Android streaming devices, Fire TVs (which reportedly won't have their OS updated), or streaming directly on a Smart TV by downloading the Smart TV's streaming app (not the best option, but functional).

We are preparing for any potential issues and will provide videos and written instructions for the new streaming device and other methods to stream apps, whether for new users looking for a streaming device or those wanting to expand their options.

New update Hive Service Outage

As of this morning 5:22/25, Hive Service is down. They are aware of the and are actively working on restoring services as soon as possible. Please continue to check for updates. From the main screen of the Firestick, where the Hive Icon is located, you can select Filrise or Freevee temporarily. This situation highlights the importance of having combo apps, allowing you to switch to another provider and still have TV for only $15 more per month.

 

At 8:45 pm, I was informed that Hive will be up and running within the next hour.

 

If you are using the new Hive, it should now function properly. For users of the old Hive, sign in using the temporary DNS box, which will work. Once that option is no longer available, you will then sign in the usual way.

We have updated the process for selecting your plans by introducing a drop-down list when paying your bill, which should make it much simpler. Identify the app you are using, click on it, choose the desired option from the drop-down list, and proceed accordingly. Channels Stopping and Freezing

As discussed a previous article on internet throttling, during peak usage times, internet providers often reduce users' speeds to allocate bandwidth to other areas. 

 

To ensure your Fire Stick operates smoothly, it is advisable to clean it regularly, restart your internet router monthly, and adopt good maintenance practices. When issues like throttling occur, the solution is not necessarily switching internet providers or increasing speed but rather using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN conceals your digital identity from your internet provider, preventing them from affecting your connection speed. For instance, Proton VPN is a free option available for download.

 

This method has proven effective; for example, users with AT&T internet who were unable to log in resolved issue immediately after enabling a VPN. The VPN altered their device, making it unrecognizable to AT&T and restoring connectivity without further problems.

If you need assistance installing a VPN, we can provide support. For local customers, we offer on-site setup services for a nominal fee to cover time and travel expenses.

Consider Update to Combo Package

Having a combo package provides an alternative when one service experiences downtime or issues while you are using it. Since they operate independently, one service can remain functional even if the other is unavailable. For instance, on the morning of03/27/25, Blackrose encountered issues, but Hive, the alternative, functioned without problems.

 

The additional cost is only $0.50 per day, amounting to just $15.00 more per month added to your Blackrose subscription, offering peace of mind. At $45 per month, this option remains significantly more affordable than cable.

How to find expiration date in Blackrose Sparkle or Hive Sparkle

From the main screen of either app, where the background displays changing posters and the menu is located at the bottom with options like Live TV, Movies, and TV Shows, navigate to Account. Then, select your service, either BlackRose or Hive. Scroll to the bottom where it says "About," select it, and you will find your expiration date.
